 School Psychologist Linwood and Marcus Hook Elementary

 The School Psychologists offers comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluations (MDE) to determine, if any, learning difficulties, disabilities or differences a referred student may have.   Ms. Merkins works closely with the Instructional Support Team in creating in class modifications that may be helpful to a referred student prior to MDE referral.  Each student’s individual needs are considered through the entire IST and MDE process when making decisions regarding his/her need for special education services. 

 The Psychologist is also involved in the development and implementation of Functional Behavioral Assessments as well as Behavioral Support Plans. 

 Recently Mrs. Brown and Ms. Wolf have begun a social skills group with both special education and regular education students in need of more structured prosocial development.  These students enjoy this weekly group and positive effects are being noticed by other staff members.
